Condition: This example is quite worn with cracks in the ivory and boxwood and the graduations are fairly faint. The locking pin is present and the caliper slides smoothly and the ruler holds itself open. A bargain for this fixer-upper, this model of rule demands $800-1600 in showroom condition!

Antique c. 1849 Very Rare Henry Tower Bevel T Square
This antique adjustable bevel T-square is marked "H. TOWER & CO.," a very rare and desirable mark indicating a tool maker working out of Millbury, MA circa 1849. 14 1/4" long blade, handle is 10" long. Brass trapped hardwood (looks like rosewood). Blade adjusts somewhat stubbornly, needs a bit of cleaning.

This rare and collectible vintage tempered steel rule was made by L.S. Starrett Co. of Athol, Massachusetts, an bears an advertisemetn for "The Garlock Packing Company Manufacturers of Asbestos Rubber Garlock Packings Metal Fibrous; Palmyra, New York, The Standard Packing of the World." Bears a caliper and diamond logo. 6" of graduation in 16ths on one side, 32nds on the other.
This antique looking sliding T Bevel is made of rosewood and brass with a steel blade. Some warp in the blade. No maker's mark present but the owner's mark "E.P.G." is in the base. 13" long when folded closed, steel blade is 12" long, handle itself is 8 1/2" long, 1 1/8" wide, and 11/16" thick.
This antique rosewood, brass and steel adjustable try square folds into itself. marked "W" on one of the brass fittings but otherwise no sign of maker or owner. 9" long when closed, 8" steel blade, 6" handle.
Antique Davis Level & Tool No. 2 Machinist's Iron Level
This antique Davis Level & Tool Co. level is 12" long, 2 1/4" tall, and 7/8" wide. Appears to be a No. 2 Machinist's Iron Level based on the company catalog page shown below. The bubble IS intact on this piece. This item is an early clinometer level often used in ship building in order to build a boat/ship level when it is on a building ways. The level is set to the degrees of the ship building ways (boat ramp).

Materials: Looks and feels like boxwood but it's pretty dark, I think the patina could be from someone using mutton grease (popular in the late 1800's) on it at some point

Condition: Good, chip in the slider, threads and locks alright, the bar widens out on the end without the scratcher on it to keep the slider from coming off

Antique Stanley Sweet Hart No. 71 Double Beam Gauge
This carpenter's double beam marking gauge bears the Stanley Rule & Level Co.'s "Sweetheart" mark. Also marked "MADE IN U.S.A." and "No 71." 6 inches of graduation, 8 1/2" long beams. Brass and beech construction.
This antique brass and hardwood screw-adjusted marking gage has no distinct maker's mark but bears the faint lettering, "A BURN" (perhaps A. Burn or Auburn?)
